I have always been keenly interested in Polaroids for two reasons. First, as you say, they allowed free expression when it was hard to get male nude photos developed. Second, some photographers used them to create some truly artistic work, with Andy Warhol and Tom Bianchi being examples. You have posted some of Mr. Bianchi's work here.
Yeah! My uncle told us that he and my father took a polaroid of each other when they were young, he said he kept it, but never showed it to us. My father is such a prude that he didn't remember this....
